Mission Statement
Metro Catholic Outreach exists to address the immediate needs of individuals and families in the Cedar Rapids area by providing food, housing assistance, and community resources.
Our Organization
Metro Catholic Outreach (MCO) serves as a collaborative project by 11 Catholic parishes in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Our goal is to provide support for individuals and families in need through a food pantry, financial help for housing and utilities and resources for community assistance. Our mission stems from the teachings of Jesus, specifically His call to care for the hungry and the marginalized. Jesus’ call to feed the hungry can be found in Matthew 25:35, where He says, “For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat…” This call compels us to actively engage in acts of service and compassion, ensuring that no one is left without the essential needs for life.
We accomplish our mission with our 200 passionate volunteers.
